FInding Life Featured by CNBC!

We are very excited to share the first article to mention FInding Life Blog was in the personal finance section of CNBC. In it Mrs. FInding, who they refer to as Cali A., shares her thoughts on talking money with friends.

It seems a really fitting first mention since a large reason we started this blog was to share our knowledge with our friends. After all, what’s the fun in retiring early if all your friends are still working??

The whole process happened quite quick (or maybe that’s how this works in journalism, we don’t know…). The reporter posted in a Women’s FIRE Facebook group that Mrs. FInding is in asking if anyone in the group liked to get financial advice from their peers and was willing to speak with her.

I (Mrs. FInding) responded that I did and was becoming somewhat of a resource for others (what with becoming obsessed with personal finance and FIRE and learning as much as possible). She set up a chat for the next day, we spoke quickly about how I felt about talking with my peers and friends about money, and that was that.

Fast forward 3 days and my goodness she actually included some of the things we spoke about!

We are thrilled of course that our blog was featured, but more than anything we are thankful that she is helping increase discussions about removing the taboo of talking money with your friends.

Money will affect us all, everyday. This is just a fact. And we don’t want our friends to feel isolated in their money problems, paralyzed by overwhelm, or feel that they can’t turn to us for anything they face in life- including money problems. So we are very pleased to see more and more articles highlighting the need to talk money. It’s in our collective learning and action that we grow together.

We hope you will enjoy the article and we’d love your thoughts on talking money with peers, maybe you totally disagree?
